As an artist you are constantly contemplating your lot. You investigate yourself through your conscience and your imagination. For me art/life is a juggle, an attempt to balance juxtaposed imagery, sentiments, ideas, adrenalin filled epiphanies, and the inevitable seasons of doubt. These internal scenarios explore versions of ‘your history’ as you play with memory, fact and fantasy amidst the scrutiny and research that artist’s must pursue within their visual language.
The Artist 2016
This photographic series revisits the artist’s earlier “Shoosh!” images that feature his eldest daughter Noni. In no uncertain terms these images refer to the drive to hide difficult dysfunction and secrets, as well as acknowledged legitimate cultural secreting of information in indigenous communities… The sea behind Noni is the vehicle for his uncharted journey through fatherhood...
