Yvonne Mills-Stanley’s new exhibition Flight, plays with the tension between abstraction and figuration, with finely threaded lines of colour. As an extension to her ongoing grass series, this new collection continues her fascination with this ephemeral subject, however imbued with several dramatic mood shifts in new colour and composition – here there is more a sense heaven than earth. The artist has often commented that she is “more concerned with the colour, structure and movement of grass…where grass has once been…and where it is travelling to.”
