New Moon in the City

Artists

New Moon in the City is a dynamic new body of work by artist Rosella Namok. Namok grew up in the Aboriginal community of Lockhart River and for the past eleven years has lived just outside of Cairns. Her latest series of evocative works represent an optimistic and reflective outlook that follows her move from the bush to the city. Alongside artworks including Stinging Rain and the Unchii (or Paperbark Tree) suites of paneled works, the iconic image of a hovering full moon dripping with Namok’s signature finger-patterned lines features in this exhibition.
